Several state employees were dismissed for the failure to implement the Presidential Decree.
On November 9, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov made a statement on the measures taken to ensure transparency of the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh. He urged civil servants and executive heads not to interfere in campaign events, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.
“Dear executive heads, if you do not want to be dismissed, strictly comply with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and then your reputation with the Kyrgyz people will be spotless,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister said the rector, dean and three lecturers at the Osh State University had been dismissed for violation of law and the failure to implement the Presidential Decree within 10 days from the start of the campaign.
The Leilek Region Akim was dismissed, and the Mayors of Osh and Isfana and the Minister of Education were reprimanded.
The elections to Kyrgyz Parliament are scheduled for November 28. The electorate will vote under a mixed electoral system.
