Tokayev said the apogee of legal reform should be the rule of law.
On November 9, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held the meetings, including with Chairman of the Supreme Court Zhakip Asanov. The high-ranking official informed about the progress of the phased improvement of the national justice system, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported.
The Chairman of the Supreme Court reported on the main impacts of the Administrative Procedure Code for 4 months of the second half of the year. Asanov noted that the newly introduced set of articles and regulations would change thinking and strengthen the discipline among judicial officials.
The high-ranking official reported on the measures taken to apply the alternative methods of dispute resolution, promote new anti-corruption models and projects and ensure greater unification of judicial practice and the adversarial nature of criminal proceedings.
The President emphasised that the overriding factor in ongoing legal reform should be the rule of law. This factor should contribute to enhancing the protection of human rights and strengthening trust of civil society in courts.
