Kyrgyzstan to punish for campaign violations

The Secretary of the Security Council and the heads of state bodies discussed the preparations for the elections to Jogorku Kenesh.

On November 3, Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic Marat Imankulov held a regular meeting of the Republican Task Force to support the election commissions in addressing organisational and technical issues of the parliamentary elections, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Imankulov specified the main task of the Republican Task Force to provide organisational and technical assistance to the election commissions in holding transparent parliamentary elections. He stressed the inadmissibility of interference in the activities of the commissions under any pretext.

The Secretary of the Security Council reminded that the elections, held in violation of the law, voter frauds and falsified election results, had led to civil unrest.

He said the state bodies should make every effort to hold fair and transparent elections, promptly respond to election violations and act appropriately against violators in accordance with the law.
