Ashgabat-Tejen road opened in Turkmenistan

Deputy Prime Minister Gylyjov presented the draft program of the festivity to President Berdimuhamedov.

On October 29, the Ashgabat-Tejen road was opened on the territory of Turkmenistan. It is a part of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway. The launch date was announced on October 28 within the framework of a Cabinet meeting chaired by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It was reported by the news agency «Turkmenistan Today».

Deputy Prime Minister Chary Gylyjov reported to the national leader on the preparations for the opening ceremony of the highway. He noted that the relevant program included familiarization of the event participants with the operation of the control center, car service areas, recreation areas, devices for accepting payment cards, a virtual security system and other important objects along the highway.

Berdimuhamedov instructed the official to hold a solemn event at the highest level.

The cost of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat autobahn project is about 2.3 billion US dollars. Türkmen Awtoban Company realizes the construction. The total length of the eight-lane highway will be 600 kilometers, it has a width of 35 meters. The implementation of the project started in January 2019 and will be completed by 2023.
