Kazakhstan and Russia confirm commitment to united strategy for action

Tokayev and Putin agreed to work together under the agreements reached within CSTO and SCO.

On September 20, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a telephone conversion with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed aspects of bilateral and international cooperation, the press office of Akorda reported.

The leader of Kazakhstan congratulated the President of Russia on the success of the election to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the 8th convocation, noting that this nationwide event was very significant for achieving internal political cohesion in Russia.

Tokayev also expressed deep condolences to the Russian leader on the victims of a shooting incident at Perm State Research University.

The interlocutors positively evaluated the unrelenting generation of trade and economic contacts and highlighted the significance and filling of the platform of the Forum of Interregional Cooperation in Kokshetau with high-quality practice. The Forum is scheduled for September 30.

The two leaders confirmed their commitment to coordinating the approaches to the implementation of the agreements reached at the recent CSTO and SCO summits in Dushanbe.
