During the visit, the President of Kyrgyzstan delivered a speech at a meeting of the CSTO and SCO and met with the leaders of foreign countries.
On September 17, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov arrived in Osh Region after completing his working visit to Tajikistan. Japarov took part in a meeting of the CSTO and the SCO, where he had outlined Kyrgyzstan’s positions. He also met with his foreign counterparts, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The key topic of the meetings was the current situation in Afghanistan.
The leader of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed concern about the political and military situation in this country, since it was threatening the security and stability of the entire region.
The President proposed to develop a strategy of interaction to prevent encroachments on the SCO countries and manage migration processes.
He emphasised that Kyrgyzstan stood for speedy preventing a military conflict and establishing peace.
Japarov raised the issue of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. He suggested developing rapid response mechanisms in case one of the CSTO Member States would attack another.
