Hungary thanks Uzbekistan for assistance in evacuating citizens from Afghanistan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan received the copies of the letters of credence from the Ambassador of Hungary and congratulated him on his appointment to the responsible post.

On September 10, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held a meeting with the newly appointed head of the diplomatic mission of Hungary Gyula Kovacs. The Minister received the copies of the letters of credence from his interlocutor and congratulated him on the beginning of his responsible work, wishing him every success in this position, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The interlocutors emphasised with satisfaction that mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries was developing consistently over the past few years. In this regard, they expressed mutual readiness to maintain constant contacts and practical partnerships, including political consultations between the foreign ministries, to promote relations in the trade, economic and investment sectors.

The interlocutors focused on the topical regional and international issues regarding the difficult situation in Afghanistan. The Ambassador of Hungary sincerely thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan for its assistance in evacuating citizens of Hungary and other states from Afghanistan.
