On September 10, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani. The diplomat arrived in Kazakhstan for an official visit. The President called for the intensification of bilateral cooperation based on the existing potential, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Tokayev identified trade, investment projects and expanded humanitarian contacts as the promising and effective areas to build up partnerships. He said Kazakhstan was looking forward to close cooperation within the international organisations.

The guest expressed strong hope that his visit to Kazakhstan would open a new stage in bilateral relations. He emphasised that North Macedonia was determined to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Sharing Kazakhstan’s position on the situation in Afghanistan, Tokayev noted that the international community should not leave Afghanistan alone at such a critical moment. This country needs assistance and support. Kazakhstan hopes that an interim government in Afghanistan would be inclusive and respect the interests of all ethnic groups and social and political actors. Kazakhstan expects this government to strictly abide by its obligations to protect the rights of citizens, combat terrorism and illicit drug trafficking and address other challenges.
