Japarov presents 500,000 soms to Kyrgyz swimmer

During a warm conversation, the President noted once again the heroic act of Vladislav Shuliko, who had set a world record.

On September 8, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov had a meeting with a Kyrgyz swimmer, Master of Sports Vladislav Shuliko, who had swum 181 kilometres across the Issyk-Kul Lake and set a world record, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.

Japarov highly evaluated the athlete’s heroic act, noting that he had showed an example of faith in yourself and perseverance to achieve his goal despite all obstacles.

The President said the heat was a gift for the 30th anniversary of independence of Kyrgyzstan. Vladislav Shuliko sets a good example for the younger generation by performing this act.

The President said he knew about the difficulties in applying for a Guinness World Record due to lack of money and informed of his decision to allocate half a million soms from the President’s Fund.

Thanking the President for moral and material support, the athlete said the desire to glorify Kyrgyzstan worldwide had motivated him to achieve this goal.

The President wished Vladislav Shuliko good health and new achievements in sport.
