India to purchase agricultural products and copper from Kyrgyzstan

Adanov reported on the measures taken to protect foreign investors and businesses in Kyrgyzstan.

On September 6, Deputy Director of the Sixth Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Rahman Adanov had a meeting with a business delegation from India led by President of the Indian Economic Trade Organization (IETO) Asif Iqbal. The parties discussed aspects of trade cooperation between the two countries, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The meeting took place within the ongoing work to promote economic diplomacy.

The interlocutors considered the issues relating to promoting Kyrgyz exports, in particular, organic agricultural products that could be supplied to the Indian market. The issues under discussion also included tourism promotion in Kyrgyzstan.

Iqbal noted that the Indian delegation was very interested in the purchase of copper, dried fruits, honey, alcoholic beverages, as well as the construction of small hotels.

The Indian side emphasised that it was ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in the education sector.

Adanov informed about the steps taken by the authorities of Kyrgyzstan to protect investors and businesses.
