Border region of Kyrgyzstan be energy independent from neighbouring countries

The President of Kyrgyzstan put into operation the Razzakov substation in Batken Region.

On August 27, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov put into operation the Razzakov substation during his working trip to Batken Region that would make the region completely energy independent from neighbouring countries. Japarov noted that the energy sector was of strategic importance for the national economic development, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The construction of a Razzakov-Arka overhead power line (51 kilometres) and Razzakov substation and the reconstruction of the Arka substation have been completed.

The President noted that the opening of new industrial enterprises every year, the development of the construction industry and infrastructure and population growth resulted in higher electricity consumption.

The electric needs of the economy and the population will be met fully through reconstructing hydroelectric power plants and substations, building new ones and replacing power lines.

In this regard, Japarov emphasised that the authorities of the country were making every effort to promote reforms in the energy sector.
