Tokayev approves implementation of Kazakhstan-US joint scientific ideas

Educational programmes that meet international standards will be developed for educational institutions in Kazakhstan through joint efforts.

On July 29, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held an online meeting with the academic staff of the University of Arizona (USA). The interlocutors discussed the prospects of scientific and academic development of higher schools in Kazakhstan, the press office of Akorda reported.

The leader of Kazakhstan noted that globalization was increasingly affecting the global academic environment. In this regard, he emphasised that the agenda of relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States covered many areas of activity, and contacts in the field of scientific research and student-teacher exchange played a leading role.

Tokayev approved the initiative of the University of Arizona to become a strategic partner of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan in improving the quality of education.

This initiative provides for the joint development of educational concepts at educational institutions in accordance with world standards. The University of Arizona chose M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University as the major partner among the institutions of higher education in the Republic.
