Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Deputy Prime Minister for Banking and Economic Affairs

The Turkmen official was also dismissed from the post of head of the Supreme Control Chamber and removed from the State Security Council.

On July 9, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was appointed Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan for Economic and Banking Affairs, and International Financial Organizations. The decree was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as part of an extended government meeting, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

According to the decree, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was also dismissed from the post of head of the Supreme Control Chamber and removed from the State Security Council. The corresponding post was abolished to improve the work of the government.

The President instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to analyze the draft state budget for 2022, prepare and approve the investment program for the next year. Serdar Berdimuhamedov was also given instructions on taking into account the increase in salaries, pensions, student scholarships, state allowances, social benefits in the corresponding budget; creation of new jobs; allocation of funds for the construction of facilities on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of independence.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Banking and Economic Affairs was instructed to accelerate the privatization of state property and the development of the private sector, to expand work on attracting investments to the economy. Particular attention was paid to the preparation of a program on expanding the production of import-substituting and export-oriented products.
