Speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament admitted to hospital

13 parliamentarians have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

On June 29, the administration of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic informed that Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov had health problems. Currently, he is undergoing medical treatment at the clinical hospital of the President’s Office. His health is said to be stable, the press office of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan reports.

According to the information, 13 employees of the Jogorku Kenesh, including the employees of the Speaker’s Office, have been diagnosed with COVID-19. 36 employees have been allowed to work remotely to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. 

The current epidemiological situation in the country is unfavourable. There have been almost 3,500 cases registered over the past two days in Kyrgyzstan that has reached a new record since the pandemic began. 

According to the Ministry of Health, Kyrgyzstan saw the highest one-day tally of 1,600 new coronavirus cases in ‘black July’ of 2020 during the first wave of the pandemic.
