Restrictions placed on entertainment establishments in Bishkek

The Bishkek Mayor’s Office decided to place restrictions on social gatherings in bars and clubs to address the surge in coronavirus cases.

On June 17, Vice Mayor of Bishkek Viktoriya Mozgacheva chaired a meeting of the City Emergency Epidemic and Epizootic Control Commission. The representatives of regional administrations, city health department, sanitary and environmental inspection agency, state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance centre and education department attended the meeting, the press office of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office reported.

The members of the Commission discussed the epidemiological situation and measures being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the capital.

Following the discussion, the commission decided to impose limits on the opening hours of entertainment establishments (nightclubs, restaurants, cafes, bars and karaoke clubs), including those located in shopping and entertainment centres, from 11 pm to 7 am from June 17.

The city transport department was instructed to strengthen disinfection measures to ensure compliance with sanitary rules and regulations on public transport.
