Leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan sign Joint Statement

The Statement secures principle agreements and formulates long-term measures to further promote and enhance multifaceted mutually beneficial and strategic cooperation between the two states.

On June 10, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon signed a Joint Statement. The statement secures principle agreements and formulates long-term measures to further promote and enhance multifaceted mutually beneficial and strategic cooperation between the two states, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

The ceremony of exchanging the bilateral agreement took place in the presence of the leaders of the two countries. These are the agreements on the establishment of an Uzbek-Tajik investment enterprise, bilateral interaction in the industrial, high-tech and mining sectors, the transit of goods and the creation of a joint stock company that will build a power plant on the Zarafshan River and the protocols on amendments to the Agreement on the mutual provision of land plots for the diplomatic missions.

35 documents, covering the energy, transport, engineering, power, mining and light industries and the sphere of science, were signed.

These projects provide the groundwork for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two states and nations and enable to make substantial progress in promoting multifaceted cooperation.
