Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the gift given to the head of the Republic of Tatarstan represented friendship and brotherhood.
On May 17, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The parties discussed the main issues of further cooperation, having marked high level of the current partnership. It was reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
Berdimuhamedov gave Minnikhanov a puppy of Turkmen alabay named Akdost, stating that it symbolizes friendship and brotherhood, as well as commitment of Ashgabat to the comprehensive development of relations between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.
Minnikhanov thanked his colleague for such an original gift. On Instagram in the comments under the photo with alabay the subscribers of the leader of the Tatar republic underlined that this dog breed is considered one of the most ancient on Earth.
During the negotiations, Berdimuhamedov and Minnikhanov discussed the prospects for developing cooperation in IT, economy, transport, oil and gas sector. Particular attention was paid to the supply of equipment made by Kamaz OJSC to Ashgabat and partnership in the aircraft construction.
It should be mentioned that at the end of 2020, the volume of trade between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan amounted to 107 million dollars.
