President of Tajikistan calls on citizens to produce more food

Rahmon touched upon that issue in his Eid al-Fitr congratulatory message to the people of Tajikistan.

On May 12, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated the people of Tajikistan on the holy Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr. He called on citizens to produce as much as possible, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.

The President emphasised that agricultural producers had completed sowing crops on time, which would enable them to reap rich harvests throughout Tajikistan. He said the duty of every person was to give alms at Eid al-Fitr.

Noting that 2021 would be one of the most difficult years over the past century, the President said it would affect food security, first of all. The leader of Tajikistan added that it was not always the choice of the Government to raise food prices.

Rahmon called on every citizen of Tajikistan involved in production to work harder towards creating the abundance of food in the country and ensure adequate food supplies for every family.
