Families of Tajik citizens killed in border crash to receive $ 6,100 each

On the instructions of President Emomali Rahmon, an estimated total of US$ 61,300 will be earmarked for these purposes.

On the instructions of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the families of citizens, who were killed in the crash on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, would receive 70,000 somoni (over $6,100) in cash subsidies from the Government, the press office of the Sughd Region administration reported on May 5.

Sughd Region Chairman Rajabboy Ahmadzoda announced this during his meetings with the families. Expressing condolences, he said the country would never forget the heroism of the brave sons of Tajikistan.

The father of one of the victims said it was the duty of every citizen of the country to defend the border. Ahmadzoda emphasised that the Government would disburse 700,000 somoni (about $ 61,300) in the above financial support.

Ahmadzoda said the children of citizens, who were killed in the border crash, would receive cash subsidies until they reached the legal age of majority. They will receive admission quotas to universities. A commemorative plaque will be placed to honour the heroes.
