Kyrgyzstan authorities allocate 700 million soms to reconstruct facilities

Maripov emphasised that public-private partnerships would will help overcome obstacles.

On May 4, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov held a meeting with the top managers of a number of construction companies and informed them that the Government had started removing debris and rebuilding houses and social and cultural facilities that had been destroyed during the recent incident on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reproted.

The Prime Minister said 700 million soms had been allocated from the state budget to perform these works.

500 million soms will be spent on the restoration of social facilities and the construction of roads leading to the affected villages. 200 million will be spent on the restoration and construction of houses.

The representatives of the construction companies and other businesses expressed their readiness to assist in restoring the infrastructure in Batken Region.

The participants in the meeting agreed to visit the region in the near future and determine the kind and extent of assistance the businesses would provide.
