Russia to supply high-tech equipment to Tajikistan

Trade Representative of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Korenkov said equipment would be supplied to various sectors of the economy.

On April 24, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan Yevgeny Korenkov had a meeting with Director of the EDB Representative Office in Tajikistan Nikolai Nikulin. The Russian Federation intended to supply high-tech equipment to the Central Asian country, the press office of the Eurasian Development Bank reported.

Korenkov suggested that the Eurasian Development Bank contribute to the implementation of a number of large infrastructure projects for the supply of advanced Russian-made equipment to Tajikistan for various sectors of the national economy, in particular for the healthcare sector.

Special attention was paid to the possibility of involving the Eurasian Development Bank    in the investment projects aimed at increasing Tajikistan’s economic potential.

Korenkov earlier said Russia would supply equipment for hydropower units – turbines and generators and perform construction and installation works tohelp Tajikistan complete the construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant.

He added that the Russian side was considering the possibility of supplying 1,000 freight and 100 passenger carriages for the Tajik Railways SUE.
