Constitutional rights violations decrease by 33% in Kazakhstan

With the aim of fulfilling these tasks, the ‘vigilant eye’ of prosecutor’s offices was redirected to solve effectively the problems of the business community.

On April 21, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev held a meeting with Prosecutor General Gizat Nurdauletov, who reported on the measures taken to enforce law and order in the country and the work done by the departments of the Prosecutor General’s Office in the first quarter of 2021, the press office of Akorda reported.

The Prosecutor General reported on the completion of the first phase in the transition to a three-tier model of the criminal justice process. He informed that constitutional rights violations had been revealed and prevented thorough prosecutorial control over the key verdicts of the departments of pre-trial investigation. According to the generalised findings, ‘trampling’ of these departments decreased by 33%.

Gizat Nurdauletov reported on the measures taken to protect the business sector from illegal actions of auditing and other state institutions. With the aim of fulfilling these tasks, the ‘vigilant eye’ of prosecutor’s offices was redirected to solve effectively the problems of the business community. During the reporting period, the legal rights of 22,000 entrepreneurs were protected, 357 inspections and 57 ‘penalty’ documents were cancelled.

The President said the Prosecutor General’s Office should watch over the rule of law in all spheres of society and gave specific instructions in this regard.
