Measures to be taken to boost investment and industrial activities and exports in the region were discussed.
Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with the ministers and heads of departments and associations. The meeting participants discussed the instructions given by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to Samarkand Region and the measures to be taken to boost investment and industrial activities and exports in the region, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reports.
The meeting participants reviewed the progress in the implementation of the regional investment project. They were tasked to conduct an inventory of the projects and identify the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. They should also develop new project recommendations aimed at encouraging industrial advancement in more promising areas, including the textile, food and electrical engineering, agricultural processing, mechanical engineering, metallurgy and building materials industries
They also discussed the tasks of enhancing the efficacy of the potential of the Urgut free economic territory by analysing the existing potential, finding new ‘points of growth’ and developing new high-margin investment projects.
The meeting participants focused on intensifying the work with exporters.
