Tourist zone Avaza to open on June 1

The announcement was made at a government meeting chaired by President Berdimuhamedov.

On April 16, at a government meeting chaired by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the Minister of Health and Medical Industry Nurmuhammet Amannepesov said that the emergency commission to fight the spread of diseases had decided to open the Avaza tourist zone, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».

The official noted that the Caspian shore will open for tourists on June 1. The summer holiday season in the national tourist area will last until September 15. According to Amannepesov, 50% of the area of hotels and cottages will be used in the first half of June. It was emphasized that the corresponding areas will be expanded in the future, taking into account the favorable epidemiological situation.

The minister said that the commission also decided to create a Control Center for the urgent solution of issues arising among the rest of the citizens. Besides, specialized specialists will take samples of water, air, and soil regularly for safety reasons.

Recreational and entertainment centers, sanatoriums, children’s hospitals, and camps will be open for vacationers. The minister proposed to determine the time of children’s rest from June 2 to August 26.

Berdimuhamedov stressed that the tourist zone Avaza will be open for the people who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

It must be added that restrictions on recreation in the tourist area and swimming in the Caspian Sea were introduced on May 15, 2020.
