Central Asia’s largest tourist complex in Kazakhstan

Its authors believe that it recreates an atmosphere of the times of the Silk Road combined with modern services.

On April 11, the region’s largest multidisciplinary tourists complex with an archaic sign “Keruen-Saray” opened in ancient Turkestan. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin attended the opening ceremony, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The long-awaited investment project was implemented by the Turkistan Tourizm City company. Construction started in late 2019. The improvised oriental city occupies a 20-hectare area on the territory of the Azret Sultan cultural centre next to the Khoja Ahmed Yassavi mausoleum.

The authors believe that it recreates an atmosphere of the times of the Silk Road combined with modern services. Visitors can walk along the street of merchants and artisans and watch the horse show and bargains at the old bazaar. The complex also houses boutiques, hotels, restaurants, spa salon, gym, cinema and family park.

The architects’ creative solution is a similarity to Venice; all the buildings of the town are connected by a canal, on which boat parades will take place.

The Prime Minister noted that “Keruen Saray” had no analogues in Central Asia, and its purpose was to attract tourists and investments to Turkestan Region.
