The cycling marathon route ran from the Path of Health along Archabil and Bitarap Turkmenistan avenues to the state tribune in Ashgabat.
The citizens of Turkmenistan widely celebrated World Health Day on April 7. Mass bicycle races and various sporting events were held in the capital and all provinces. In Ashgabat, the column of participants of the bicycle marathon was led by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as reported by «Turkmenistan Today».
The bike ride was attended by deputy prime ministers, ministers, heads of the Mejlis, security forces, employees of the city administration, representatives of public organizations, journalists, students, and teachers. The route of the corresponding race ran from the Path of Health along Archabil and Bitarap Turkmenistan avenues to the city center.
On the way, the participants of the event watched the performances by creative teams. Pupils of the Döwletliler köşgi (Orphans' Palace) joined the bike ride at the Älem cultural and entertainment center. They joined the sporting event on bicycles that were the gifts from Berdimuhamedov.
The race ended at the main square of the country — the state tribune. There the head of the state gave a speech. He noted that such events unite society and inspire citizens to achieve new successes.
It must be added that such cycling marathons are held in the country every year. It is also important to note that this year Ashgabat will host the Track Cycling World Championships and the Davis Cup (International Tennis Tournament).
