President of Uzbekistan proposes creation of Investment Fund

Mirziyoyev put forward an initiative to create the Development Bank of the Turkic Council.

On March 31, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was invited to attend an informal Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, which was held via videoconference at the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan. Speaking at the forum, the leader of Uzbekistan proposed the creation of the Investment Fund and the Development Bank of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The leader of Uzbekistan focused on the importance of renewing and enhancing trade and investment relations, as well as cooperation and transport links in new conditions and adopting e-commerce and digital technologies.

The emphasis was placed on the prospects for strengthening industrial cooperation among the member countries and implementing large-scale joint investment projects.

Mirziyoyev highlighted the need to launch the Tabarruk Ziyorat project to promote pilgrimage to holy sites, located in the regions of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, and put forward an initiative to adopt the Pilgrimage Tourism Development Programme.
