Japarov calls on Turkic countries to promote trade and transport

The President said the modernization of tourism sector would benefit all Turkic-speaking states.

On March 31, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov attended an informal Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, which was held via videoconference. Japarov recalled that Kyrgyzstan had supported the idea of creating the Turkic Investment Fund and viewed transport and trade as the major areas of cooperation, the press office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

He emphasised that the construction of new railways across the territory of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, including the new railway that would connect Kyrgyzstan with Uzbekistan and China, was of crucial importance to Kyrgyzstan.

Japarov said Kyrgyzstan fully supported the renaming of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States into the Organisation of Turkic States.

The President identified the creation of the Investment Fund of the Turkic World as one of the major projects and expressed Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to host the headquarters site of this financial institution in Bishkek.
