Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and EBRD President agree to strengthen partnerships

Since EBRD started working in the country, it had provided financing to 280 projects worth US$ 9.5 billion.

On March 30, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held an online meeting with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Rene-Basso. The agenda focused on the energy issues, green technology projects, support for small- and medium-sized businesses and other deltas of cooperation, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

Noting very fruitful cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EBRD, Askar Mamin said investments had breathed life into 280 projects since EBRD started working in the country. These investments totalled US$ 9.5 billion. The infrastructure, energy, agricultural, digital, financial, social and entrepreneurial and many other projects received financing.

The parties discussed in detail the material aspect of the construction of the Big Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD), a clinic in Almaty and other healthcare facilities.

In conclusion, the Government of Kazakhstan and the EBRD signed the Partnership Framework Agreement. The document establishes the framework for cooperation on a broad range of issues, including support for private companies, attraction of foreign direct investment in the national economy, implementation of green resource-saving projects and development of other important areas.
