Bishkek and Chui Region report highest number of cases

Maripov said the Government and health institutions must stand by as the COVID-19 situation in the country was worsening.

On March 30, speaking at the meeting on the epidemic situation in the country, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov said the worsening COVID-19 situation in Bishkek and Chui Region was raising great concern, the press office of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

The Prime Minister said the country should be prepared for the worsening situation, even for the worst-case scenario.

Maripov instructed the Republican Task Force to strengthen monitoring and control over the epidemic situation.

The Prime Minister called on citizens of the country to take care and personal responsibility for their own health and the health of their family members and follow all necessary hygiene measures, in particular wearing a mask and social distancing.

It was reported that the medical institutions had a 1.5-2-month reserve of medicines and consumables. Pharmacies maintain a corresponding stock of medicines and supplies.

The talks were held with the top managers of the pharmaceutical companies in the country, and further steps were identified to reform the industry and stabilize medicine prices.
