Kazakhstan has launched Kia vehicle production

The plant will roll out 20,000 vehicles every year for domestic sales.

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and Head of KIA Motors Russia & CIS HQ Jin-Ha Kim launched the Kia vehicle production line (South Korea) in a solemn atmosphere at SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP in Kostanay Region, the press office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

Its production output is 20,000 Kia vehicles per year. The level of product localisation increased to 50% through using MKD assembly and welding and painting operations.

The Prime Minister stressed that automobile production ranked among the vanguard vectors of Kazakhstan’s industrial concept, and this sector showed growth dynamics every year.

The agenda of the working trip to Kostanay Region focused on monitoring the implementation of a number of investment projects. Askar Mamin visited the construction site of the KamLitKZ iron casting facility.

The 80 billion-tenge facility is to be put into operation in 2023. Its production range will include axle housings, cylinder blocks and block engine cylinder heads for NG heavy equipment. In the future, this facility will create 300 new jobs.
