Umurzakov meets with Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey Olgan Bekar

The approaches to promoting partnerships in various sectors and the measures designed to enhance multifaceted interstate interaction were discussed.

On March 26, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey to the Republic of Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar. The parties discussed the aspects of further partnerships in various sectors and the measures designed to enhance multifaceted interstate interaction, the press office of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade reported.

The parties focused on promoting investment relationships. It was noted that Turkey had invested US$ 950 million since 2019. Currently, 1,576 enterprises with Turkey’s capital operate in Uzbekistan.

The parties expressed their full support for the activities of Turkish entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan’s investment and production sectors.

The emphasis was placed on the positive trends in trade turnover between the Republics – for example, bilateral trade increased by 27.6% during the first two month of the year.

The parties considered the opportunities for enhanced cooperation in using Turkey’s expertise to improve the investment climate, modernise the regions and improve the management efficiency of free economic zones.

They also discussed the possibilities of inviting expert consultants from Turkey to work in the construction, transport and environmental sectors in the Republic.
