The President of Tajikistan told the children about the measures taken by the Government to support vulnerable populations.
On March 24, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the administrative centre of Khatlon Region – Bokhtar town during his working trip to the towns and districts of the region. The leader of Tajikistan presented the gifts to 200 orphans for the Navruz Holiday, the press office of President of Tajikistan reports.
Rahmon had meetings with the children, who had lost their parents, in the towns and districts of Bokhtar, Abdurahmoni Jomi, Levakant, Kushoniyon, Nurek, Khuroson, Yavan and Vakhsh. The gifts included clothes, sweets and art books. One-time cash assistance was given on behalf of the leader of Tajikistan to the orphans.
The President told the children about the measures taken by the Government to support vulnerable populations.
Currently, there are 29 organisations and institutions in Khatlon Region that provide social support to people with disabilities, including children.
The Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan pays a monthly allowance of US$ 100 to 500 orphans in 16 towns and districts. Financial assistance has been providing to young citizens throughout the year since June 2020.
