Kazakhstan and Russian Federation agree on delivery of another 4 million vaccine doses

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan arrived in the Russian Federation for a working visit.

On March 22, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askara Mamin discussed a number of issues with RF Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during his working visit to Moscow. They reviewed bilateral economic activities and national efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

The emphasis was placed on the current epidemic situation. Discussing the joint measures taken to combat COVID-19 and restore economic equilibrium after the pandemic, the parties agreed on the delivery of another 4 million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed the agenda of the 17th Forum of Interregional Cooperation in Ecology and Green Growth, which would be held in Kokshetau.

The heads of government discussed the prospects for promoting business ties in the trade, economic, financial, energy and space sectors, a number of industrial cooperation projects and interaction within the EAEU. They highlighted the need to speed up the development and signing of the concept of bilateral economic cooperation for 2021-2025.

Russia is a key partner of Kazakhstan. In 2020, bilateral trade turnover exceeded US$ 18 billion. Over 10,000 enterprises with the Russia’s capital operate in the Republic.
