China sends its vaccine to Kyrgyzstan

A government delegation led by the Prime Minister and the Ambassador of China received the consignment.

On March 19, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulukbek Maripov and other government officials took part in receiving humanitarian aid from China. The Chinese side has sent 150,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, the press office of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

Maripov expressed gratitude to China for its help and noted that the pandemic had demonstrated that no country was able to fight the virus alone. He said Kyrgyzstan was fighting coronavirus infection both on its own and with the help of its international partners.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the People’s Republic of China ranked among the few countries in the world that had made significant progress in developing vaccines against the virus.

PRC Ambassador Du Dewen highlighted the importance of providing humanitarian relief and expressed hope that the vaccine would help Kyrgyzstan tackle the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
