52,000 new jobs to be created in Uzbekistan

In 2021-2022, 1,108 investment projects worth US$ 11.3 billion will be implemented in the industrial and service sectors.

Participants in the session of the Kengash of People’s Deputies, attended by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 19, noted that over 1,000 investment projects worth US$ 11.3 billion, which would create 52,000 new jobs, would be implemented in the industrial, public service and agricultural sectors in 2021-2022, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

This year, two thermal power plants with a total capacity of 710 MW will start operating in Kibray Region through direct investments by Turkish companies amounted to US$ 450 million. It is planned to build two hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 540 MW in Bostanlik through direct investments amounted to US$ 1.48 billion.

The President of Uzbekistan instructed the high-ranking officials to create 14 small industrial zones in Tashkent Region and launch building materials production on 18 unused non-metallic mineral deposits.

They highlighted the need to plant gardens and vineyards on an area of 16,000 hectares.

The participants focused on supporting the social sphere. The leader of Uzbekistan instructed to increase preschool education coverage, refurbish school buildings, build four inter-district health centres and provide haemodialysis services.

As was reported, recently the President of Uzbekistan had instructed to eradicate unemployment in Tashkent Region.
