Turkmenistan and Japan to expand cooperation on gas processing

The issues of functioning of the GTL plant for the production of synthetic gasoline ECO-93 located in the Ahal province were discussed.

On March 18, the head of the State Concern Turkmengaz, Batyr Amanov, held an online meeting with the head of the Japanese enterprise Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. — Tatsuya Watanabe. The parties discussed the promising aspects of the effective activity of the GTL plant for the production of synthetic gasoline ECO-93, which is located in the Ahal province, as reported by the press office of MFA of Turkmenistan.

Amanov and Watanabe discussed issues on expanding bilateral mutually beneficial Turkmen-Japanese relations. They outlined the priority areas for the development of cooperation between enterprises.

The project was built in Ovadandepe by the State Concern Turkmengaz with the participation of Japanese and Turkish leading companies. The annual capacity of the plant is 600 000 tons of A-92 gasoline, which meets the environmental requirements of the Euro-5 standard. It also capable of realizing 12 000 tons of refined diesel fuel and 115 000 tons of liquefied gas.

It must be noted that the Ahal plant for the production of environmentally friendly gasoline of natural gas, which has modern Japanese equipment, was opened in June 2019.
