Tokayev meets with Professor at Stanford University

The conversation focused on the key factors of technological transformations in the structure of the world economy.

On March 10, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev had a conversation with a renowned scientist from the United States, an authoritative expert in international studies and rule of law, Professor at Stanford University Francis Fukuyama. The conversation took place online with video conferencing, the press office of Akorda reports.

The President and the scientist discussed the features of contemporary global development and the prospects of evolution of the geopolitical order in the post-pandemic period. The parties talked about the mainstream trends of new modelling technological change of the world economy, including in view of the lessons learnt from the collapses triggered by the pandemic.

The President told the interlocutor about how Kazakhstan was implementing reforms and demonstrating its priorities in the international arena, including Central Asia. Concluding the remote discussion and consulting, the leader of Kazakhstan invited the interlocutor to visit the Republic after the pandemic had slowed down. Francis Fukuyama thanked Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev for the opportunity to meet and expressed hope for long-term constructive interaction on the most pressing issues of international politics.

Francis Fukuyama is Professor of Political Science by courtesy, Mosbacher Director of the Centre on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law, Senior Fellow at Stanford University, and author of numerous research papers and articles.
