About 2,000 participants from 57 IsDB member countries, financial institutions and foreign business communities are expected to attend the meeting.
On March 9, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with THIQAH Executive Director Ghassan Al-Baba. The parties discussed the preparatory work for the 46th annual meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors, which would take place in Uzbekistan. About 2,000 participants from 57 IsDB member countries, international and financial institutions, foreign business communities and media are expected to attend the meeting, the web portal of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan reports.
The parties dwelt on the tasks of preparing for the meeting and the activities of the organizing committee and the work groups, representing the Bank and the government agencies of the Republic.
As was reported, IsDB President Bandar Hajjar is considering the possibility to visit Uzbekistan in May to hold a road show prior to the annual meeting.
The meeting aims to draw public attention to on-going social and economic reforms in Uzbekistan and enhance the Bank’s support. The organisation will make every effort to implement the ambitious national social, economic and political development programmes.
The officials highlighted their readiness to hold the meeting and approach the preparatory work in a constructive manner.
