On March 3, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich exchanged views on strategic development within the EAEU and the priority aspects of this year’s presidency of Kazakhstan, the press office of Akorda reported.
Tokayev highlighted the great importance of the full implementation of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. In this context, he focused on removing barriers to mutual trading activities and diversifying industrial cooperation among the members of the Union. The emphasis was put on the importance of speeding up the transition to digital technologies in the industrial and agro-industrial sectors and customs regulations.
The politicians supported the idea of creating trade and economic routes from the EAEU to the third countries and international organisations, including the European Commission, WTO and ASEAN, among others.
The Chairman of the EEC Board supported a number of specific initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to promote closer interaction among businesses, support enterprises that create new jobs and encourage young entrepreneurs that have creative projects.
The parties agreed to hold a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Eurasian Business Forum in Kazakhstan in two months.
