During the state visit to Nur-Sultan, the head of Kyrgyzstan will meet with the top officials of Kazakhstan.
On March 2, President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov arrived in Kazakhstan as part of a state visit. He met with Kazakh leader Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. The heads of the states discussed the prospects for further strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance, and also exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda, as reported by the press office of the head of Kyrgyzstan.
During the negotiations, the main focus was made on building up trade and economic partnership and close interaction in the political, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Welcoming the Kyrgyz delegation, Tokayev stressed that the two countries are traditionally linked by fraternal ties of friendship and cooperation.
Japarov, in turn, stressed that over the years of independence, a solid foundation of bilateral relations between the countries has been formed and a high level of cooperation has been achieved. He added that Kazakhstan is not only a close neighbor but also a key strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan.
Expressing confidence that the centuries-old unity of peoples will continue to strengthen, the Kyrgyz president noted his readiness to continue a constructive dialogue.
