Tokayev congratulates citizens of Kazakhstan on Day of Gratitude

The Day of Gratitude is timed to coincide with the foundation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan that comprises over 800 ethno-cultural associations.

On March 1, Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of Gratitude. President of the Republic Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev addressed citizens of the country on this solemn occasion, the press office of Akorda reported to CentralAsia.news.

In his message to the people of Kazakhstan, Tokayev said this holiday, established by Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev six years ago, had been filled with new content and profound symbolism at the present stage. The value of the date glorifying the unshakeable traditions of mutual assistance and solidarity of the people of Kazakhstan is imperishable.

The President said these traditions had enabled to revive statehood, respond to unpredictable challenges and acquire a global content embodied in numerous socio-economic and foreign policy achievements, with which the country had entered its 30th year of independence. The people of Kazakhstan were investing worthily their potential to develop the state and strengthen peace and cohesion in our blessed homeland, Tokayev noted.

The Day of Gratitude is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (APK) that plays a central role in the state policy. APK comprises over 800 ethno-cultural associations. The Day of Gratitude is observed to pay tribute to the preservation and support of many ethnic groups resettled to the territory of the Republic over the past century.
