Kazakhstan to develop green economy together with German companies

The top managers and experts of over 80 well-known companies from Germany expressed an interest in joint work.

On February 24, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar took part in an online forum involving the top managers and experts of Germany’s large companies. The participants discussed the aspects of cooperation in developing “green technologies”, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Exchanging views, the participants deliberated on the agenda of possible joint work in the areas of decarbonisation, recycling and hydrogen economy.

The top managers and business attachés of over 80 well-known companies, including Siemens Energy, Linde, Deutsche Bahn, REMONDIS, Deutsche Bank and Goldbeck Solar, among many others, participated in the ample online discussions.

Executive Director of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations Michael Harms highlighted the strategic significance of real decisions arising from this initiative. He said it was important for the two countries to build up comprehensive trade, economic and investment cooperation.

The top managers, directors and experts of the German companies made substantive and thorough presentations on the prospects for developing green technologies in Kazakhstan. The parties specified the approaches to implementing   joint projects, which would allow making the most of the existing bilateral potential. The participants exchanged business ideas during the Q&A session.
