The Minister of Public Education and the US Ambassador greeted the American teachers and scientists who returned to Uzbekistan.
On February 9, English teachers who arrived from America were solemnly greeted in Uzbekistan. The event, which was held at school #295 in Tashkent, was attended by the head of the Ministry of Education and Science Sherzod Shermatov and the US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum. The specialists will participate in improving the skills of local English teachers who work with children. It was reported by the press office of the American Embassy in Uzbekistan.
The group of foreign specialists consists of 27 English teachers and professors from the United States of America. This group is the first to arrive in Central Asia since the COVID-19 pandemic. Their goal is aimed at developing the training of qualified specialists at educational institutions of the republic. A significant part of the professionals will be involved in joint work with Uzbek teachers, and seven members of the group will take part in the «Trainers» project, within the framework of the «English Speaking Nation» program.
— We are sincerely glad to welcome you here and celebrate your arrival together with the leadership of Uzbekistan. You are on an important journey to strengthen ties between our countries and share your experience in English teaching, vocational training, research, and pedagogy with your Uzbek colleagues. As native speakers, you will contribute to the common goals of both states to prepare more graduates who speak English and develop educational and economic prospects for the youth of Uzbekistan, — said Rosenblum in his congratulatory speech.
Shermatov, in turn, stressed that in the Address to Parliament, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the importance of studying foreign languages. Therefore, Uzbekistan invited English language specialists from the United States to help improve the teaching of the subject at the local level. It will contribute to the implementation of the main English Speaking Nation project to improve the professional skills of English teachers.
