President of Turkmenistan instructs to improve public health

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of the further implementation of the Saglyk State Programme.

On February 8, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting on the issues of science, education, healthcare, sports and public organisations. The Turkmen leader had instructed Minister of Health Nurmuhammet Amannepesov to strengthen efforts to protect and improve public health, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reported.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of the further implementation of the Saglyk State Programme, the main goals of which include the increase in average life expectancy in the country.

The Turkmen leader instructed to take effective measures to strengthen the physical health of children and raise public awareness of healthy eating, healthy lifestyles and a detrimental effect of the bad habits. Placing the emphasis on the promotion of sports, the President gave instructions to support children’s sports.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to intensify attention to the sanitary conditions of cities and strengthen infection prevention and control. The Turkmen leader underscored the need to study the environmental situation in the Aral Sea Basin and its negative impact on human health.
