Serdar Berdimuhamedov meets with Ambassador of India

The Minister of Industry and Construction Production and the diplomat discussed the prospects for enhancing bilateral contacts in the building engineering sector.

On January 29, Minister of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Peethambaran Nair. The parties had discussed the major spheres of further partnerships in the building sector, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

The parties highlighted the significance of the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by the UN Resolution at the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which started in Ashgabat on that day.

Turkmenistan and India successfully cooperate in the spheres of economy, trade, culture, energy, transport and healthcare. During the meeting, Vidhu Peethambaran Nair said New Delhi was interested in speeding up the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline.

The officials agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in the building and building engineering sectors.

As was reported, from January 19 to 21, the Ambassador of India held a number of online meetings with the rectors of Turkmen universities that focused on promoting Turkmenistan-India inter-university cooperation.
