Minister of Health of Tajikistan reports on the fight against coronavirus

Jamoliddin Abdullozoda said he had never been infected with coronavirus, though he had been in close contact with health workers.

Minister of Health of Tajikistan Jamoliddin Abdullozoda said he had never been infected with coronavirus. He added that it had become possible through observing all hygiene rules, the Khovar News Agency reported on January 30.

The Minister of Health said he had been in close contact with health workers and people at risk all this time. He had never been infected with coronavirus because he was wearing a mask, sanitising his hands and practising social distancing.

The Minister said 99.3% of coronavirus patients in the Republic had recovered. Of all coronavirus cases, 0.68% of deaths have been recorded, meaning the country has one of the lowest death rates in the world.

As was reported, no new cases have been recorded in the country since January 11. President Emomali Rahmon said Tajikistan had won a victory over the infection. Since the first confirmed case was reported, 13,308 patients have been registered.
