President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said it was better to prevent diseases than to cure.
On January 28, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with a number of Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Health and Medical Industry Nurmuhammet Amannepesov. The leader of the country instructed that citizens should be provided with COVID-19 vaccine, the Turkmenistan Today News Agency reports.
Amannepesov reported on the work of the Extraordinary Commission to Prevent the Spread of Diseases. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of enhancing infection prevention and control measures, in particular during the spring and summer. The Turkmen leader instructed that prevention measures should be increased, if necessary.
The President said the registration of vaccines approved by the World Health Organization should continue. The Turkmen leader instructed to ensure strict compliance with the three guidelines on infection prevention and control, including wearing a mask, compliance with international standards and awareness raising.
The emphasis was placed on vaccinating citizens of Turkmenistan who would go to study abroad. In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said foreign citizens should have vaccination certificates upon entry into the country.
The Turkmen leader instructed the Minister of Health and Medical Industry to provide the population of Turkmenistan with COVID-19 vaccine, noting that prevention was better than cue.
