The Mayor of Dushanbe said US$ 149 million of foreign investment would be used to develop the city.
On January 27, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali had reported to President Emomali Rahmon on the work done by the Dushanbe City Hall in 2020 and the urban development plan for 2021 during an enlarged government meeting, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
Rustam Emomali reported that it was planned to modernize over 20 km of heat supply networks and 10 heat supply stations in Dushanbe. Heat will be supplied to 2,500 apartments this winter.
The Dushanbe City Hall intended to purchase 50 more buses manufactured by the Tajik company AKIA and 100 trolleybuses made in Belarus, the Mayor said.
450 social and industrial facilities are currently under construction in the city. This year, roads with a total length of 34 kilometres and 47 bus stops are to be built, and 6 kilometres of new roads with over 20 bus stops will be designed.
Rustam Emomali reported that over 1.7 billion somoni (about US$ 149 million) of foreign investment would be used for the above needs.
The Mayor also said 33 new manufacturing enterprises were put into operation, construction of 10 new facilities was launched and 32,000 new jobs were created in Dushanbe last year.
