Kyrgyz Cabinet and Gazprom discuss drop in gas prices

The sides considered the possibility of transferring the vehicle fleet of state organizations to gaseous motor fuel.

On January 28, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC Gazprom Vitaliy Markelov discussed the implementation of the Gazprom Kyrgyzstan OSOO program on gasification of the country in 2021 and the possibility of transferring the vehicle fleet of state bodies to gaseous motor fuel, as reported by the press office of the Kyrgyz government.

At the same time, Novikov and Markelov discussed the issues of pricing and the possibility of lowering the price of natural gas, including the creation of a special tariff for the TPS in the capital of the country.

The Vice Prime Minister noted that the government attaches great importance to ensuring energy security and developing the fuel and energy sector.

According to the information provided, since 2016, a full-scale work on gasification of residential areas of Bishkek and settlements of the Chuy province has been being carried out. Today, about 60% of the residents of housing areas are subscribers of Gazprom-Kyrgyzstan OSOO.

Earlier, on behalf of the government, Electric Stations JSC started to study the issue of transferring the capital’s thermal power to gas.
